Safety First
In Wantagh, bus passes are issued by the first day of school to all eligible riders
in Grades K-12. Bus passes must be shown in order to board buses each day,
and are not transferable.
We want our students' ride on the Wantagh school buses to be a pleasant and
safe one, so we expect all passengers to adhere to the following important
safety regulations:
- Show bus pass when entering the bus, both morning and afternoon.
- Cross 10 feet in front of the bus, and wait for the driver's signal to cross.
- Never cross behind a bus.
- Wear seat belts.
- Keep head and arms inside the vehicle at all times.
- Remain seated until the bus comes to a full stop.
- Enter and leave the bus only when it is completely stopped.
Remember, the safety of our bus riding students is a cooperative effort on the
part of the community, parents, drivers and bus companies. It's important to work
together to make each year a safe one for Wantagh students.
